Ever since his parents bought him $10 tickets to attend a Golden State Warriors game when he was in the second grade, Eric has been enamored with sports. And ever since he realized he wasn't good enough to play in the NBA, Eric decided he'd settle for being able to write about sports.
That realization led him to eventually fall in love with storytelling.
Eric's sports bylines have appeared in USA TODAY, NBCSports (including NBCLA, NBCOlympics and NBC Sports Bay Area) and Yahoo Sports. He was also a regular freelancer for the Southern California News Group, covering a variety of sports in the Los Angeles region including UCLA football and Big West basketball.
After stints covering Bay Area communities for the Los Altos Town Crier and as a field editor at Patch, Eric served as the Los Angeles Bureau Chief for City News Service before joining POLITICO as a California legislative reporter.
